The one and only album from this French band.
Cheval Fou was led by Michel Peteau, the man also responsible for Nyl. It's album has received very favourable reviews. Where Nyl are more space rock, Cheval Fou is much more Krautrock. This despite of Cheval Fou being French.
The music here is a mix of spaced out kraut and some plodding spaced out avant-garde. The sound is not particular good and I am not "accusing" this band of hiring the best studio in the world when this album was recorded. But the music still has this dirty cosmic outer space sound.
The seventy-five minutes here are pretty varied and not all is great. But the best stuff here from the fifteen minutes to fifty minutes mark is great. The worst, the beginning and the end is as interesting as listening to a vacuum cleaner. Overall; this album is good and worth checking out.
